Joe Garner will depart Rangers and sign for Ipswich in the next day or so after a fee was agreed between the clubs.
As we reported Monday, Garner had emerged as a target for Ipswich and Rangers are now believed to have been able to recoup around half of the fee they paid for the English hitman at the start of last season.
Garner became something of a cult figure at Ibrox but with the squad being reshaped he was seen as surplus to requirements.
With a number of new signings having already arrived, Rangers will be happy to have secured a significant transfer fee and removed him from the wage bill. Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Fabio Cardoso, Dalcio and Daniel Candeias have already signed up for the new season.
Garner arrived from Preston North End last August under then manager Mark Warburton, going on to score ten goals in 37 games across all competitions - including just seven goals from 31 appearances in the Scottish Premiership.
His departure is expected to be the first of several outgoings at the club in the coming weeks and months.
